On many applications for citizenship from Finland, John "Barkinson" was a sponser for many in the 1880s and 90s.
First, I tried Finngen to make sure Barkinson wasn't a truly Finnish last name but no one on the list could take a guess as to who's son Barkin might be.
I think he may have been from Isokyro or Ylistaro parishes as those seem to be the birthplaces of many men who came in the early days to work the docks or railroad.
