I have done some recent research on my Pope family from Montgomery, Maryland. 3 of the children went to Jefferson County, Ohio:

John Pope b. ca 1755 m. Margaret b. ca 1760 - she married 2) William Brook Owen 22 March 1806 Montgomery, MD

children:
William Pope b. 1786 m. Rosanna Thomas 2) Catherine Kelly - lived in Washington County, Maryland
Margaret Pope b. ca 1789 m. Zachariah Reed and lived in Jefferson, Ohio (need more info on their children)
Thomas Pope b. ca 1791 m. Elizabeth Case 2) Elizabeth Burris and lived in Jefferson and Coshocton OH
John Pope b. ca 1794 m. Nancy Myers lived and died in Jefferson, Ohio
Eleanor Pope b. ca 1796 m. Henry Roberts lived in Kenton, Kentucky


The ages of these children coincide with the 1790 and 1800 censuses of Montgomery County, Maryland. If anyone has any more information on these families; knows where John Pope may have come from - or connects - please let me know. : )
