Thanks you for your post thomasker2- but I know my family, and the history from her great and 2nd great grandchildren. Indians were ashamed and hid themselves, and it was not talked about "or popular" to even have Indian blood. Now when you want to find it for health and posteritys sake, its hidden- and quit well.
So yes, what ever the gov't wrote down was what they wanted, or the census takers wanted.
