Perhaps someone will know of sources other than vital records. Church rosters, archived newspapers, land records, township history, community anniversary publications, anything at all. Old cemetery surveys are especially helpful. The Gideon I'm looking for had a large family, and more than one clearly made it to upper teen years. I hope more than one had a successful adult life and left a paper trail somewhere.
