I am seeking ancestral and family info concerning a Reuben Hughes (bc 1735, VA; dc 1815, Highland Co., OH?) who apparently settled early on in then-Orange Co., NC c 1760, migrated back to SW VA (Montgomery/Giles Co., VA) by around 1780 and finally through Mason Co., WV and Highland Co., OH by around 1800/05. The one family who he seemed to consistently move with, however, was the Wilburns, an allied family from back in VA. In fact, it is suspected that Reuben married a Wilburn widow in NC and had a step-son (William, bc 1760) through her. We are, however, directly related to Reuben's daughter Susannah (bc 1763, NC; dc 1826, Giles Co., VA) who married a James French c 1789 and remained back in SW VA.

Any ancestral or family-related info/data for Reuben would be very much appreciated as his ancestry has been one of the more difficult ones for us to trace, without a doubt. In fact, any Hughes or Wilburn-related info would be appreciated at this point.

Thanks very much,
Bob
