Extract of Will:
I James Patton ...
First...expenses be fully paid.
Second...my wife Nancy...
Third...That whereas my Eldest daughter Eliza Jane who was intermarried with Rev. James Golden is now deceased leaving five children [surname Golden] viz. Sarah Belle, William James, Margaret Agnes, Henry George and Thomas Patton all minors heirs of the said Eliza Jane [nee Patton, wed Golden].
I will and bequeath...
...to my daughters [Patton] Mary W., Isabella M., intermarried with Plants[z] Stevenson, and Margaretta M. and [grandson] Thomas Patton Golden the residue... Except Thomas P. Golden whose interest will be...because of bequests heretofore to his brothers and Sisters....division above referred to shall have no reference by way of curtailment to my daughter Isabella M. now intermarried to same Plants [z] Stevenson...
