William can be found in the 1870 Census living with the Stout family at the age of 4 - head of household is a Geo Stout born circa 1816 Kentucky and his wife Amanda born 1827 Ohio. Interestingly enough this Geo, according to a distant cousin was actually a Gilbert Snowden Stout who is my 5th cousin 5x removed.

William remained with this family until his marriage to Nettie Mae Alcorn 6 Oct 1886, I have a copy of the record of their Marriage - Nettie's father gave his consent because she was underage. And on the note that Nettie's father signed, a R Stout is listed as witness.

William died 19 Jan 1942 Urbana Champaign Illinois.
