Martin Kays, an aged veteran, and for many years a resident of Guernsey County, Ohio, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James A. Aududdle, in Senecaville, O., June 22, 1906. He would have been 85 years old had he lived until January next.
He was a soldier in the late Civil War of the United States and was true to his county. For sometime he made his home with his son, Martin Kays Jr., of Cambridge, O., but more recently with his daughter of this place.
Father Kays was a highly respected citizen, loving father and husband, a true Christian, and will be greatly missed. His companion died about 23 years ago. He leaves behind him four children to mourn their loss, also one brother, and one sister, Mr. John Kays and Mrs. Florence Lobdell.
May God sustain the bereaved friends. A.T. Vestal, Senecaville. Thursday 5 July 1906 Cambridge Jeffersonian Cambridge Ohio.
