I am searching for information on the family of my gg-grandmother, Catherine HUMPHREYS. She was born 26 Mar 1814. An 1856 census states she was born in Ohio Ð probably Greene County. She married Ichabod LATHROP 25 Feb 1836 in Tippencanoe Co., Indiana. In 1839 they removed to Muncie, Indiana and in 1853 to Hardin County, Iowa.

I believe her brother was Thomas HUMPHREYS. The 1856 census states he was born in New York. The History of Hardin County (Iowa) states he was a native of Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, born 24 Jan 1805. In 1813 he removed with his parents to Greene County, Ohio. On 16 Feb 1826 he married Catherine Ann HAWK, then of Clark County, Ohio, but a native of Pennsylvania. In 1829, they moved to Tippencanoe County, Indiana and seven years later to Deleware County, Indiana, then in 1853 to Hardin County Iowa where he (along with Ichabod LATHROP) was one of the first settlers of Etna Township.
