"Frank Rice died on Thursday morning at the Flower hospital at Toledo, following an operation. He had been ill for several weeks baffling all medical skill. On Tuesday Dr. Murbac_ of Archbold was called and decided an operation was necessary. He was then taken to the hospital. It was found that he had a cancer on the large bowel that had caused an obstruction. He did not survive the shock of the operation. Mr. Rice has been a life-long and highly respected resident of Fayette and vicinity, with the exception of one year spent at Wichita, Kans. He leaves a wife and two sons, Park, who lives at Detroit and Clark at Bay City. Mr. Rice was 59 years of age."
