James R. Thomas was my uncle. I have been trying to find out information on why my mother and he and my uncle Charlie were there. Also been trying to find out how to locate them on the 1940 censes. Please any information you have would be so helpful, maybe we can help each other. My mother was Catherine Irene Thomas, she didn't really speak of why they were there but told lots of stories about being there, my Uncle Charlie died while he was there.
