Greetings,

This is my first posting to this board. My ggrandfather, Robert Cowden (1833-1922) was born and raised around the Galion Crestline area.

After being postmaster of Galion (1878 - to about 1882) he left for Kansas. I am seeking information that may tell me where in Kansas he moved to, perhaps a newspaper article?

He also married twice, first to a Crawford County girl Lydia Tabitha Miller (1835- ?) probably around 1853 and later (after 1880) to Joanna Riblett (1855-? , widow of x McGinnis). Any info regarding marriage dates or family data for these two would also be appreciated.

Robert was burried in Galion Oct 1, 1922 (unknown location) and his daughter Zoe Estella May (Cowden) Chipperfield may be there as well.

Robert published the Cowden-Gilliland genealogy in 1915 which I have a copy of but it is silent in many details.

Any bits and pieces of info would be appreciated.
