HOPKINS (Vest), Thelma Francis 98, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Thursday April 2, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona after a brief illness.
Thelma had resided in Arizona for the past 30 years.
She was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 27, 1916 to the late Fred and Mary Vest.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Paul E. Hopkins, son Paul E. "Sonnie" Hopkins, Jr., and daughter Lois Jean Hopkins-Myers.
Thelma is survived by six grandchildren, Kathy (Hopkins) Shale, Paul (Michael) Hopkins, Mary Beth Hopkins, Scott Hopkins, Paula (Hopkins) Voegele, and Mark Chase.
She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She loved collecting salt and pepper shakers and did so for many years, still recalling specific sets that were acquired decades ago.
As kids, her grandchildren loved to admire all of the sets displayed in her curio.
Her feisty sense of humor will be missed.
Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill
Burial Park at 11:00 am on Saturday April 11, 2015.
Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
