Patricia "PJ" (Calhoun) Smith, 74, of Springfield, Ohio, born to William H. and Pauline J. (Hutchinson) Calhoun on January 28, 1939 departed this life on Friday, December 27, 2013.

P.J. graduated high school with honors and attended Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio majoring in Special Education.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and friend to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jesse Lamar Smith, two brothers Raymond (Buck) and Jackson (Jack) Calhoun, and one sister Idella Strickland.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons Jesse (Kathleen) Smith of Minnesota, Sam, and Eschman (Felicia) Smith of Springfield and two daughters Josephine (Smith) Lewis of Springfield and Lisa (Smith) Davis of Dayton, Ohio, and grandchildren, Shamika (Rob), Servern, and Pauline Davis, Shango, Amor, Shoni and E"sha Smith.

She is survived by five siblings, Marian Thomas, Franklin (Judy) Calhoun, Willie Calhoun, Adelaide (her sissy) Calhoun all of Springfield, OH and William Robinson of Washington D.C. as well as special niece Ashley and nephews Willie, Dickey, great-nephews William H. and Richard A. along with a host of other nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Highlight Baptist Church where the services will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 2014 with visitation at 9:30 AM in the church with funeral services at 10:30 AM

Burial at Ferncliff Cemetery immediately thereafter.
