Raymond W. Eversman, 90, formerly of 102 Bielefeld Street, New Knoxville, died of an extended illness at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home, Wapakoneta, Ohio.
He was born Aug. 3, 1906 in Rector, Arkansas, son of Philip and Sarah (Schrolucke) Eversman. In Sept. 1928, he married the former Aurora Wierwille, and she died Dec. 20, 1988.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and Zane Faurot of New Knoxville, OH; Janice and Charles Schroeder, Delaware; two grandsons, Robin Schroeder, Delaware, Ohio; Joseph Schroeder, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts; and three great- grandchildren, Alexia, Michael and Samantha Schroeder.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Michael Schroeder; a brother, Albert Eversman and two sisters, Mabel Moellenkamp and Ruth Corey.
Mr. Eversman was a retired truck driver for Hoge Lumber Company of New Knoxville.
He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville and enjoyed woodworking.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 1996 at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home in New Knoxville with Rev. David Hunt and Rev. Richard Wierwille officiating.
Burial will follow in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
