John Willison was born in 1839 in either Athens or Meigs County, Ohio. In 1850 he is in Meigs Co., Ohio with Moses Robinett. Don't know John's parents or the relationship to Robinett. John was in Ross County, Ohio, later Fayette County, Ohio where he died. He married Jane Todd in 1869 in Fayette County. Do you have any information on this John Willison? Thanks.

Don't have a John, b-1839 in Athens County. Have a Samuel J Willison, b-1830, Maryland, d-1905 living in Athens County in late 1800s. Married Marinda Robinette in 1857, b 1836, d 1917 Athens County. Do not have a brother John for Sam there may have been one though and no parents for Marinda. Though they should have known your John and Moses Robinette. There were two Moses Robinette(s) in the CumberLand, Maryland area where Sam came from.

Hmmm. Possibilities. My Rhoda Willison married Noah Whitehouse Coffman in 1830 in OH. She is my brick wall. Have no idea who her people were or where they lived before they came to OH. I think both she and Noah were born there in OH. He was a minister of The United Church of the Brethren--in OH. His people had been Mennonites in the Shenandoah Valley before the move to OH. Noah's parents died in OH, but leaving Fairfield Co., Noah moved his family to Clinton, IA, where he and Rhoda are buried. Maybe I should be looking in Meigs and Athens and Hocking Counties. I had only checked out Licking and Fairfield counties. Maybe we can make connection. Iris

Did Samuel have any older relatives, who may have moved to OH before his birth? My Rhoda Willison married Noah Whitehouse Coffman in 1830 in OH. His people had moved from the Shenandoah Valley to Licking Co., OH. Later, Noah lived in Fairfield Co., OH. I think Rhoda was also born in OH. Noah's parents died in OH. Then, Noah and Rhoda moved their family to Clinton, IA, where they are buried. I have their obituaries. Hopefully we can make connections. Iris
