Athens Messenger-Dec. 14 1940-Mine Explosion Survior Dies-Nelsonville-(Staff Special)-William H. Williams, age 58, one of the survivors of the Millfield mine explosion, died Saturday morning at his home, 345 Fort St. Members of the family said he had been in poor health for 10 years and had not worked since the explosion. Mr. Williams leaves his wife, Elizabeth, a son, William, Jr., and a granddaughter, Muriel Elaine, all at home, and three children by a former marriage. A daughter, Muriel, died last March. Mr. Williams was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Warren Funeral Home in charge of William P. Vickroy, Lancaster. Burial will be made in Greenlawn. Friends may call at the funeral home.
