I'm looking for information on my grandmother's line. Her name is Velma Pearl Hanning (it's very likely that the spelling of the name was changed to this spelling during her lifetime, but from what I'm unsure). She was born in 1908 d in 1991. Her parents were Arch and Lizzie(Parsons) Hanning. Arch was born in 1881 d in 1963. He was born in Athens Co. OH to Robert Ellis b 1857 d 1934 and Myrah May (Thompson) b 1859 d 1883 Hanning.

Does anyone see these names in your notes? I'd love to hear from you if so.

Thanks in advance,

Barbara

Just curious. My birth name is Roanna Elizabeth Hanning. My father's name is James Robert Hanning and mother is June Walraven. I was born 2-5-56 in Athens, Ohio and I am searching for any information leading to finding anyone from by birth family or any information that might lead me there. I have respect for my parents and do not wish to contact them unless they wish. Please e-mail me if you have any information. Thank You and God Bless.

Hi Roanna
I seen your post. At this time I don't have any in any information of your parents in my tree, But that doesn't mean that cant be the case. There is a good chance that we could have a family connection. Reason being, I think that all the hannings in the Athans area have a family connection, I'm kinda sure. There are two people that you may want to contact. Sandra Quinn at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohathens/ I know Sandra has alot of info about Hannings in Athans county, There is a person that I"ll send a e mail to that may be able to help.

I have 11 to 12 generations in my tree and some place around 250-300 in my tree on the Hanning side. It is still growing. I get a chance to work on my tree in the winter time. You never know time will tell if we are family. I hope this kinda helps. Let me know if you find out more about you family, Going back ( grand parants ) Will help in finding a connection. If there is a link I'll help in any info you need. Best wishes & god speed. Wm ( tom ) Hanning

I am trying to track down a Catherine Ann Hanning. I believe she is the daughter of Jenny(Janet/Jean) Carlyle-Hanning and Robert Hanning who came to North America from Scotland in the mid 1800s... does this fit into your research at all?

Please do let me know. Many Thanks.

Hi Jody
Thank you for taking the time to write and ask your question. At present time, my family line runs back to Germany. My moms mom is from Wishaw, Scotland. This is how my name going back. BERT ELLIS HANNING , AARON HANING or HANNING, THOMAS ELLIS HANING, MOSES HANING, MATTHIAS WILHELM HANING. In the USA it started in New Jersey to Pa then into Ohio around Nelsonville, Athens area. The beginning of my tree was pasted onto me from a distant relative. The person has a great amount of info and has helped me a lot. He was running out a line which is how we met. But then again one never knows. From what I have I have no connection to your question. I hope you keep looking. I've been working on this for a good 10 years now when I have the time.

oops, just told my husband about the info I posted and he laughingly reminded my that he had an older half-brother, Kenneth R. Jr. I don't see him very often and it completely slipped my mind. If you would like anymore info please let me know.
