Noticed your research includes Margaret Thullen from Athens County. Do you have any information on Philip Thullen? He moved to New Jersey and married Ida Klehamer. They are my great-grandparents, but I can't find Philip. Any help is appreciated.

I don't have anything on a Philip Thullen.. I don't have [ wish I did ] any names of brothers or sisters or parents of
Margarette THULLEN CARTWRIGHT, second wife of Elijah CARTWRIGHT they married November 12, 1858 Albany Ohio. On her obit has she was born in June 09, 1835 Hillishein, Germany. Died March 1909 Youngstown, Ohio. Elijah and Margarette are on the 1860 Lawrence Co. Ohio and then 1870-1900 Mahoning Co. Youngstown, Ohio some of their [ or his] children went to Cleveland, Ohio, some went to State of Washington, some went to New Castle, PA [ Lawrence Co. PA].

I did find Elijah's daughter to his first wife.. also married a THULLEN and with help I found this.

Mary E. Cartwright married Joseph C. THULLEN in Sept 20, 1870 Youngstown, Ohio
I don't know yet how he ties to Margarette.. .maybe a nephew?

Elijah was on the 1850 Allegheny Co. Pittsburgh, PA with his first wife Ann.. she died after they had 5 chcildren together. Last one was born c1856.

This is a very old posting, but just in case, the Philip Thullen you are looking for was born in Cincinnati, the son of Albert Thullen (1877-1955) and Katherine Keim (1879-1939). Albert's aunt Katherine Thullen (1855-1940) is my great grandmother on my mother's side.
