I am researching a walking stick that I have that was presented to a Capt Williamson of the steamer Hope on Jan 20 1870 by the citizens of Powhattan(it is spelled with 2 t's). There was a riverboat named the Hope, there was a Civil War era riverboat Capt Williamson that worked the Midwest in the 1860's. That is as far as I am able to get with this. I was wondering if anyone can give me any further help?
