Looking for info on my relatives that lived in USA between 1881 and 1920.
They were at least 8 different places between 1881 and 1905 in the USA.
The father of the family first comes to USA in 1881 arriving in Minneapolis City, Minnesota
Months later his Wife Nikoline and 3 children come in July 21 1881 and arrive in Baldwin, Wisconsin
I confirmed St Croix, Wisconsin at least 1910 to 1920 is where the parents from Norway stayed on even though their kids moved on to Canada in 1905.
Name: Nicoline Himo
Residence: , St Croix, Wisconsin
Estimated Birth Year: 1847
Age: 73 in 1920 census
Leaving Sept. 19, 1894, Andreas Høknæs, unmarried worker, male, age 26, residence Overhalden, Norway, going to Iron River Wisconsin, on the Allen shipping line, the ship Juno. His ticket was paid for in America, so someone sponsored him.
Andrew married Clara Emilia Knutson born 1885 in Mayville, North Dakota. Not sure if he met her in ND or lived there. Perhaps she was wisiting Wisconsin !?!?
He applied for homestead in Canada in 1902. So presumably he married approx 1901 and had 2 boys in the USA named Melford and Alfred who would grow up in Canada
However records also show that Andrew Hoknes had land in 2 places in Minnesota between 1901 and 1904.
