Information Wanted on the O'Brien Farm

My dad was born on a farm that his family rented in 1933. It was called the O'Brien home and was located somewhere near Auburn or Cashel, North Dakota. Does anyone have a location to this piece of property, or know the full name of the O'Brien who had owned it? Any leads would be appreciated.

Hi. I've recently come into the possession of an abundance of funeral cards (the information on the inside of the bulletin given at a funeral). A majority of them are from- or have connections to- Walsh County or the surrounding area. Some don't and are just relatives of my family, but will be included here anyway. In the interest of helping others, I'm willing to send a photo of any cards (FYI: there are no obits) requested. Married women have maiden names in parenthesis.

My great grandfather, whose last name was Reszke, was from the Poznan area of Germany. However my grandfather often said that the family had migrated from Belurssia and that they were originally from a Slavic bankground. Frankly I think that the Poznan area of Germany was a real mix of people.

My grandfather imigrated to the US in 1913. He spoke German and identified himself as having been from a German background

I recall listening to a geneology expert on WOR radio New York insist that that names that ended in "szke" originated from the Polmerania area of Germany.

Hi, I've visited this site occasionally and am wondering if any new information has been obtained. Today I saw the youngest sisters of my father, Frank Riskey, and sure would like to learn more about the Polish roots. My grandfather was Leon Riskey who lived in Grafton North Dakota. I believe his father was Julius Riski and mother was Rose Stibor. There were siblings of Leon some of whose names i recall.....Emma, Martin, Effie. Any new info re names of towns or areas in Poland where this family lived before leaving for the U. Sl.

Wanted: Info on an 1880s Park River Saloon: Ankrann & Emerson

In the early 1880s my great grandfather Tom Emerson (T.T. Emmerson) co-owned a saloon in Park River called Ankrann & Emerson.

The only reason I know of the name is due to an ad in an old Park River newspaper.

Can anyone provide me any further information whatsoever on this business or on anything else my great grandpa may have done in Park River?

Sorry I can't attach the picture,- it has Grafton ND on it.
The picture shows three young couples, with the women dressed alike, with veils.
The men each have long wide white ribbons with a flower at the top, on their lapel.
Groomsmen in other old pictures, wear the ribbons, but I don't believe bride attendant's would wear a veil.
The picture was with Prochaska, Ptacnik information, so believed to be from Walsh County area.
Appreciate any information.

There is a volunteer at gengathering.com who does Walsh Co. Cemetery lookups in book Volumes 25-28. You do have to create an ID and password to access this web site but access to the volunteer info IS free. Successful Searching!

If you can tell me who in particular you are looking for, I can help with the Cyrille Patenaude family tree. I am looking for Celina's family who are Trudeau (maybe Trudo). Cyrille Patenaude's family was from the Hennepin County in Minnesota (Minneapolis). Members of that family ended up in Minnesota, North Dakota and Manitoba. Hello, I am searching for GG Grandparents who lived in Walsh County (Oakwood Township). My GG Grandfather died on November 11, 1927 and my GG Granmother died after 1930 possibly in 1931.

GG Grandmother was Celina (Selina) Patnode (or Patenaude)
GG Grandfather was Cyrille (Cyril) Patnode (or Patenaude)
