OH, NO... YOU did not create any problems. The other poster is known for digging up OLD postings and ... As far as correcting other persons wrong family trees, you are not required to do so. I Do so and provide the proof if found. I am VERY STRONGLY upset about the wrong information persons post on Rootsweb AND in family trees. I try to help correct them as found; but as you can probably guess, this is difficult. MANY people do genealogy quickly, accept what is found and then don't care if it is wrong. A certain volunteer finds something...doesn't back it up with enough research to identify it IS wrong, but doesn't seem to care just how incompetent they are. I receive DAILY emails thanking me for preventing them from paying money for research where it is PROVEN nothing would be found. Or, preventing them from researching the WRONG PEOPLE... I'll stop there.
