Looking for the birth place of my grandfather Jerry W Webb born in North Carolina October 1836.None of the data which I have found lists a county or town. He may have been a slave or a 'free person'. I picked him up in MS on a marriage certificate dated 1869.All records I have found including census records only give birth place as 'North Carolina". Any help on this search would be greatly appreciated.
