MANESS: My name is Pat Petty, tmi@iamerica.net Searching for any information on my relatives.
First known, Fredrick MANESS, revolutionary war soldier from N.C. I do not know anything about him. My 3 great grandfather, Enoch MANESS, born 1798 in N.C. moved to AL at an early age. Married Lydia Antrey or Autrey in NC or AL. They moved to Magnolia, AR in 1853. I have information from here but would like to know Enoch's ancestors. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Pat Petty

Hi, Pat,

Can you tell me where in AL your Enoch Maness lived? I am researching the Maness family as well. I haven't traced them to AL in the 1800's, but I did come across some Manesses in the Wilcox County area while researching my mother's McGee line. Is there where your Manesses are?

According to one of my husband's distant cousins, there were three Maness brothers that arrived in the USA. One went NW, one went West, and the last went SW from NC. I can only trace back to the Civil War ancestor who enlisted in MS and was possibly born in NC. Even his birthplace is unknown at this time.

My father-in-law did a DNA test for me but that hasn't revealed anything yet. So, I keep trying every now and then to find that missing piece to the puzzle.

Thanks, Pat,
Lisa
