Hi Ruth, I cannot answer your Shepherd question. But I too am a descendent of Zion and Lucinda, though Rebecca Jane. She also married a Gault.
I went to the corner of Zion's land last week. His brother John held the other corner and a church sits there. Lucinda, Rebecca Jane and James Gault, and John Flanery were all founding menbers of Besonia Baptist. I wanted to find the Flanery cemetary, but it started to snow before I could do much more.
James pendleton and Rachel lived in the Marshall, Mo area. This is where the Flanery's were moved to during Order 11. Zion died before he could join the family. But since the church was founded after this, then they clearly moved back.
Rebecca Jane obviously met James in Marshall. But she married after she made the history books because the books call her Flanery.
Her daughter Lenora was my Great Grandmother.
