Looking for a
North Carolina minister/evangelist who would have been shot in an open air meeting somewhere in
North Carolina, circa 1860-1870, who at one time preached in
Tennessee or
Georgia. Perhaps the assailant may have been known by the last name of "
Hester" or "Horten". One of the assailants may have been caught or killed shortly afterward. Please convey any similar stories from your family or local history.
