I have also found a John Ivens in the 1870 Greene County census living in Speights Bridge, Greene, North Carolina with Nancy P Ivens and William McKeel and Mary McKeel. My John Evans was married to Nancy Anne Whitley Evans, who was from Speights Bridge, Greene, North Carolina, so I think it might be the same one. If anyone else has info about this family, please let me know.
