Grretings to one and all! I am still is search info regarding the many and varied branches of my family tree. The McMillan's settled in Wilkes County abt. 1788, John McMillan and Marion McLeamont/McLymont are the progenators of this particular Clan of McMillan's in NC. As the uears passed their home county changed to Ashe, due to the splitting of the County in 1799 and I think part of their family ended up in Alleghany County for teh same reasons later still. I have a lot of info on this family, SEE REPORT LINK BELOW, but you can never get to much data or know to many resources. The otehr familes allied to the McMillan's in this region are the Colvard's, Koontz's (or any spelling variation of this name), the Reeve's, Fields, Vannoy's, etc. The Colvard's and Koontz's arrived earlier than the McMillan's, prior revolution and buring the revolution. Any details and family links would be appreciated.

The Last one is a bit more tricky. WELLS, the ancestor I am trying to track is one Zachariah Wells. The problem with this gentleman is that there apparently were several gentlemen with the same name in and about this area at the same time. One was a noted Tory, who had a special party thrown in his favor abt. 1782(?), of course he was the guest of honor and according to the stories he had a killer of a time. In fact he over did himself and ended up just hanging around. But, there was also another Zachariah Wells in the area, bet he was glad he didn't get invited by mistake to the aforementioned party, he purchased land and is belived to had several of his children born in the area of Wilkes County and possible the New River Valley and moved out sometime around 1790 to settle in the Powell Valley area of VA, now Wise County and the Big Stome Gap area. We descenadants have been trying to find details and info on this man for several years. The earlier genealogical work for him has been questioned, SEE FAMILY REPORTS BELOW. We know he married an Osborne woman named either Abigail or Eilizabeth about 1770. What is in question is where did he come from, his parents, her parents, his comings and goings, etc. So any clues would be appreciated.
