In "Some Pioneers from Wilkes Co., North Carolina," regarding JAMES GRAY:

" ... JAMES GRAY sold JOHN CHANMEY's Heirs two 50 acre tracts on waters of Brier Creek (Deed Book G-H, page 75, January 15, 1808); ..."

I'm convinced this JOHN "CHANMEY" is really JOHN CHUMNEY who married ELIZABETH ANDREWS in Rowan County, North Carolina in 1786 because the very next transaction in the Wilkes County Deed Book G-H is between JAMES GRAY and JOSEPH ANDREWS who was ELIZABETH ANDREWS CHUMNEY's brother.

But, I have been unable to find the will of JOHN CHUMNEY, who must have died in Wilkes County in 1807, to confirm that he is my GGGG Grandfather. Can anyone with access to local records help?
