I have been looking long and hard for any information regarding Hubbard Edmundson b. 1811 d. 1886. He lived most, if not all, of his life in Wayne Co., NC. From information that I have found, it looks like his mother might have been an Elizabeth Edmundson. I believe he had a brother named Calvin b. 1812. There is an Elizabeth Edmundson listed in the 1830 Wayne Co. Census as the head of the household with one male 5-10, one male 15-20, one female 5-10, and one female 40-50 (herself). He was first married to Delpha Lane and had the following children: Burwell, Elizabeth, Bryant Sanders, William Ryley, Madison, and Calvin. Delpha died in 1853 and Hubbard married her older sister, Hepsy or Eppey Lane on April 11th 1854. They had the following children: Thomas Stephen, Barden, Barzila, Margaret, Mary Jane. I come down from the first marraige from the youngest child Calvin. I have read that Hubbard went back and lived on the Bull Head Plantation towards the end of his life. I believe he is the son of one of Lt. James Edmondson's children but I cannot link him to any of them. I found one person that said that he is the son of Bryant Edmundson and Elizabeth but I thought that Bryant married and went down to GA. Could he have poss. been married before? I feel strongly that Hubbard comes down from Lt. James' line of Edmondsons. Take a look at James' children's names: Elizabeth, Mary (Polly), Patsy, Burrell, John, Cullen, Bryant, Martha, Laney, Penelope, Theophilus, Pearce, and Wright. Three of the names match Hubbards own: Elizabeth, Burrell (Burwell), and Bryant. Nothing definitive, of coarse, but makes you go hmmmm...I have been told that he fathered several other children that belonged to Parthenia Bradshw as well. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
