I am searching for ANY information on the whereabouts of the original diary of Ebenezer Fairchild, born in about 1740 in CT and died in Watauga, NC in about 1805, that he started on October 21, 1757 while accompanying John Gano on a ministry/missionary visit from the Northeast, New Jersey it appears, down through North Carolina. In 1915 when the book A History of Watauga, NC was written by John Preston Arthur, he states the original was in the possession of Colonel Wyatt Hayes. Col. Hayes was not a Fairchild by blood but was raised by Clara and Rachel Fairchild, who are granddaughters of Ebenezer. Any information is great appreciated.
