I took my Mother out to Ebenezer Baptist Church today to visit the grave of her Great-grandfather Marcellus Carlton, presumably the son of Elizabeth Carlton. We walked the cemetery and found quite a few Carlton and King family members there. However, the older graves there seem to be right around 1900. So I am thinking that perhaps if we look to the church from which the founders of this church came, we might find THE cemetery.

Does anyone know the origins of Ebenezer Baptist Church?

Thanks for any new information. As this is an ancestor of mine, I am personally interested in restoring this tombstone to its proper location.

Also, if anyone can send me a link or any historical data on the genealogy tracing back from Marcellus (my brother was even named after him), I would greatly appreciate it.
