GREENSBORO - William
Randolph Mabe, 89, formerly of High Point died Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Born December 26, 1919 in
Danbury, Mr. Mabe was a son of the late James Tenzie
Mabe and the late Agnes
Sands Mabe.
A graduate of Lawsonville High School, he was raised a tobacco farmer and moved to High Point in 1947. He worked in the sample department at
Burlington Industries for 38 years retiring in 1987.
In 1943 he married
Iris Ailene
Mabe who died April 8, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Dwight
Mabe of Greensboro and Mark
Mabe and his wife Ann of
Stedman and three grandchildren, Laura Ashley
Mabe of Asheboro, Sean Michael
Mabe of Sedona, AZ and Amy
Bradshaw of
Stedman. Also surviving is a sister, Josephine
Ratz of Rural
Hall.
Funeral services for Mr. Mabe will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, in Saint' s Delight Primitive
Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, with
Elder David
Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at
