LAWSONVILLE - Mrs. Adelene Holt Adkins, age 77, of 1031 Weldon Smith Road, Lawsonville, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Stokes Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 15, 1930, to the late Sherman and Ruby McHone Holt.
Mrs. Adkins was formerly employed at United Elastic.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Cecil Adkins and wife Sue of Lawsonville; grandchildren, Chris Adkins and fiancee Heather Carroll, Chasity Emerson and husband Steve; great-grandson, Nathan Emerson; stepgranddaughters, Shannen Schucker and Tonya Jones; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Lester Overby and Mildred and Russell Oakley, all of Westfield, and Mabel and John Woods of Sandy Ridge; brother and sister-in-law, John and Linda Adkins of Lawsonville.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Adkins; sisters, Rachel Owens and Joy Holt; and brothers, Haywood and Jimmy Holt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Howell-Nelson Funeral Chapel of Pilot Mountain, with the Rev. Yates Wilkinson and Mr. Wayne Holt officiating.
