KING - Doris Jean Thomas. 60, of King, formerly of West Virginia, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 20, 2007, in Winston-Salem.

She was born in Clay County, W. Va., the daughter of Noble and Evelyn Thomas, who predeceased her.

Doris graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School, Class of 1964. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and worked in the medical field for the past several years. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kerri Dawn Stratton.

She is survived by her sons and their families, Bradley Kent Stratton and his wife Maria, and grandchildren, Seth, Samantha and Gabriella of Marietta, Ga., and Richard Kipp Stratton and his wife Erika, and grandchildren, Zack, Maddie, Christian, Sarah and Lauren of Norfolk, N.Y.; brothers and sisters, Arthur Thomas of Charleston, W. Va., Marlin Thomas and wife Janet of Sissonville, W. Va., Jan Warner and husband Bill of King, Lois Boggess of Sissonville, W. Va., Joyce Adamiak and husband Rudy of Seabrook, Texas, Norma Walker and husband Doug of Charleston, W. Va., Bob Thomas of Nitro, W. Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to honor the life of Doris Jean Thomas will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barry Moll officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Family and friends will visit from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
