GERMANTON - Mrs. Carolyn Edna Strayer, 90, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

She was born in Forsyth County to Thomas Franklin and Lillie Mae Morris Merritt.

She was a member of Walkertown First Baptist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Strayer; and nine sisters and brothers.

She is survived by a sister, Elsie Merritt Riley; and many nieces and nephews.

A 2 p.m. memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 26, at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Philip Wagoner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. There will be no visitation at the family's home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walkertown First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 310, Walkertown, NC 27051.
