I am reading through some papers of my Grandmother, Lula Esther Sloop (married Kluttz later), when she taught at Crescent Academy around 1904. One was of a handwritten poem called "Papa's Letter" (by an anonymous 19th Century poet) - with a note saying it was recited by Zelia Pless 2/5/04, Crescent NC.
