I recently purchased the RL Mahaley House in Salisbury and I was wondering if anyone my have any information/pictures/stories about the house? It was built around 1910 by Robert Lee Mahaley; who built the sub dividion around Mahaley St, was president of several cotton mills and Rowan Distillery, involved in the city council,ect. He lived here until 1935 or so when he gave it to his only child Nellie Mahaley Boyd who was widowed in the 1940s and lived here until 1967 when she sold it to Bruce Tate and his wife Grace. I believe the Tate family were cousins to the Mahaley's. Bruce remarried in the late 70's to Mary. Mrs Mary Tate lived in the house until 2005 when she willed it to her children who sold it.
