Are you descended from Wentworth Watson and Elizabeth Gheen? My Watsons married into the Julian family and I am a Julian researcher.
WENTWORTH WATSON (@1775MD?-1844ROWAN), married ELIZABETH GHEEN(d.before 1820). Their children were:
John W. Watson,
David Watson,
Henry W. Watson,
Ferrand Watson,
James Watson, and
youngest
Mary Watson (b.15 May 1814)who married WILLIAM JULIAN in 1848 (she had previously been married to ALEXANDER FRALEY (1833-1844)and their Fraley children were Mary Elizabeth and John Henry Fraley). The Fraley children were her own children, not siblings.
Gheen Family--he was the famous cabinetmaker of Rowan Co.NC (previous Chester, PA)
James Gheen (c.1735-1796) m. Elizabeth? (1739?-1832)
1) Thomas (1760-1828) m. Mary McBride (1767-1842) in 1788
2) James Jr. m. Mary Pinxton in 1788
3) Joseph m. 2 wives
4) Mary m. Silas Dunn in 1788
5) Sarah m. John Roberts in 1795
6) Hannah
7) Elizabeth* m. Wentworth Watson in 1805--my line
8) Elinor m. Bias Thomason in 1816
9) Rachel m. Richard Pinkston in 1810
19) possible other sons & daughters
*There was also an Elizabeth Gheen who married a Trott, but this
Elizabeth Gheen was the daughter of one of the original sons of James
Gheen
We believe that Wentworth Watson was born in Maryland and that his father is a William Watson. However, there were two William Watsons in Rowan at the time, and we can't take this family back any further at present.
