Seeking the family of a Nancy DAVIS, said to be full-blood Cherokee, raised by a Methodist minister. She was b. 1830 in NC. She m. William Thomas CRAWFORD poss.in TN. He was b. 19 Jun 1826 Haywood or Buncombe Co.,NC. They moved to TX and she was living with son, Samuel & Tillie CRAWFORD in 1900 census of Uvalda Co.,TN, at the age of 70 years old and a widow.
Have found a Lafayette DAVIS, believed to be either her brother or father, and who was registered on Gunion Miller rolls while living in Snow Hill, Hamilton Co.,TN or in Norman, TN. Nancy named a son, Hiram Lafayette CRAWFORD in (TN) 1856. Lafayette is shown with Nelly, Lafayette, Cynthia, and Eliza Ann DAVIS and Theodocia MOON.
