Slave Records of Charles Skinner - Any Available?

Classification: Query
Surnames: Skinner, Creecy
I am a descendent of Allen Skinner, who I believe was once owned by Charles Skinner. Allen's father, Jerry was apparently sold or transferred to a Skinner relative with a surname of Creecy located in Chowan County before being freed. Jerry appears in the 1870 US Census as "Jerry Creecy", head of household with a new family. Jerry is also listed on Allen's death certificate with the surname Creecy. Allen's mother must have died enslaved; I have not located any information about her to date.

I am hoping that Mr. Skinner kept detailed records of his slaves which may be of assistance in finding out more about this part of my family. Allen Skinner was born in Perquimans County in approximately 1842. He volunteered as an infantryman for the U.S. Colored Troops in Lexington, Kentucky in May 1865. His father Jerry was born in approximately 1803.

Any information or assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
