New DNA results show the Pasquotank County, NC PIKEs are indeed related to the family of John Pike who settled in Massachusetts in 1635, as well as the Pike family that was prominent in Cork, Ireland from the 1600s onwards. We can combine a strong paper trail with DNA results to perform an interesting analysis that would have been impossible just a few years ago (i.e. before genealogical DNA testing became available).
