Another possibility for Tempe Green's parents are Solomon Green and Betsey Horseen, married Nov. 30, 1824 in Craven Co.
Solomon, age 20-30, is in the 1830 Craven Co. Census with 2 females under age 5 and a wife, age 20-30. He is gone in 1840. Betsy Green is listed with 2 boys under 5, 2 girls under 5; one girl 10-15 and Betsey is still 20-30. Not sure this is the same Betsey, but she is on the page with Hoover, Banks, Horsends, Brinson, Paul, and Willis, names that seem to be connected. Some of those same names were in 1830 on the same page.
As mentioned, Eliz. Green is 41 in 1850 in Craven with Tempy 22, Joseph, 20 and Pearcy 18. Again the same families are nearby: Brinson, Willis, Hoover, Banks. I think this is worth pursuing. I am particularly interested in Solomon Green and what happened to him. Did he die, or did they divorce? Does anyone live near the Raleigh Archives? Maybe there are guardianship papers or estate papers or a divorce that would give more info. Please let me know if you find anything.
I know those ages don't match up right, but we don't know the relationships of people in the household that early, either. Just another avenue to follow.
