Thank you for answering. We think that the Blount monument in St. George, SC, may have been made / erected long after our gggrandparents' death. So we were wondering when the Artope business was operating in NC (the tiny inscription on the stone says "Artope & Whitt Co., Rocky Mt. NC). Do you know anything about that?

I have found some information about your very interesting family in Macon, only. Some of the Blounts were in the monument business, too.
