ANDREW STINSON: I am looking for descendants of Andrew Stinson who died in Mecklenburg in 1779. He left several orphaned children: Margaret, Sarah, David, Andrew, John, Martha, Mary and Alexander. I would be interested in hearing from any Stinson descendant of this area.

I don't find any Andrew Stinsons in my Stinson book. You didn't mention the state (s?) you found your ancestors in. Alexander Stinson was an early pioneer of Buckingham Co. VA. His descendents are found in KY, LA, and GA to my knowledge.

My great-great-grandfather, Alfred Orville Canon of Mecklenburg Co., NC married the Widder Stinson of Holly Springs, Marshall Co., MS in 1852 after the death of his first wife. I don't have that binder with me right now, but I'll post her first husband's name here when I find it.

I have to ask about the Yarborough name -
Wiley Yarborough married Elizabeth Looney 5 Dec 1871 Ashville, St Clair Co Alabama.
Elizabeth Looney's grandmother was Rebekoh Turney Looney, did you know that.

Also in Illinois -
Martha M. Yarborough married William Turney 22 March 1879 in Fayette Co Illinois

All of these Turneys come from the same ancestor

What about the Yarborough - are they related?

Mary
