I'm very interesting in finding any sort of information about my 5th great-grandfather James Campbell (b. 1731), present in Mecklenburg for his son's birth in 1764 and for the 1790 census, or my 4th great-grandfather Thomas Campbell who was born in Mecklenburg in 1764, moved to Marysville TN in 1793 (after fighting in the revolutionary war), then to Illinois shortly before his death in 1833. Thomas and James are on adjacent pages (364 and 365) in the 1790 census. Can I tell from the page, where in the county they may have been? Any and all input appreciated.
