Joseph Gillespie was b- ca 1725. He md. Abt. 1767 in Rowan Co., NC. He d-7-2-1800 & is buried in the Coddle Creek ARP Church Cem. in Iredell Co., NC. This was his second md. and it was to RUTH, unknown. Joseph had the following children from his two marriages: Alexander ; 1760, Joseph ; 1767, Jacob; 1769, James; 1763, John; 1765, Martha ; Abt. 1773, William; Abt. 1771, & Mary. Jacob was in Mecklenburg Co., in 1790 & was md. His wife was named Mary. James md. 2nd Esther Jetton. Alexander md 1st. Margaret Sloan & 2nd. an Elizabeth. John md. Margaret Craig he died in York Co., SC in 1798. Martha ; md. James Williamson. William, Joseph, & Mary may have md., but I have not found their records. Jacob & James moved to Pickins Co., Alabama in the 1830's. Jacob had the following sons; William Potts, James Madison, & John Baylis. He had at least one daughter that was older than the boys. James' children were John O.; James ; Ann & Nancy. I am looking for information on the father of this Joseph Gillespie also I recieved information on Nancy E.
