General William Lee Davidson reportedly presented the
sword of William "Black Bill" Alexander to Davidson
College on behalf of his family...perhaps after he
died in 1836.

The sword hung in a hall of Davidson College for some
time, but now, I understand that it is no longer there
and no one seems to know what happened to it.

Can anyone local check with the College to help us
determine what happened to William's sword? Thanks
