Thanks for your reply. I was not the one who visited the Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon County, my wife was, and so I don't know of any Guffey/ Guffy/ Dills relations, YET, but who knows? There IS an "Emma M. Guffee March 22, 1886 --Dec. 20, 1904." Perhaps she is a relative of your Emma since relatives frequently named children after loved ones. I'll check it out when I can and follow up on this board. I think we've found some of my wife's folks in the microfilms of the 1870 census, in the Mill Shoal and Franklin Townships. Stay tuned.
